Pixel art is an emergent illustrative style that’s really picking up steam, and Matt Marblo is demonstrating his adept ability to render in that manner through these fun pop culture character depictions. Sure, you may just be looking at a bunch of squares and rectangles, but through Marblo’s clever compositions, you can make out Batman standing atop of buildings or even the entire cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Though Matt Marblo is still a student studying to become an animator and illustrator, he’s already showing a lot of versatility by adapting to an abundance of styles in order to convey his ideas. He’s definitely an artist to look out for in the years to come.
