The Matchbox Candle Holder Fits a Box of Matches in its Base
Akihiko Tse — October 16, 2013 — Art & Design
Concealing romanticism within itself, the Matchbox Candle Holder is a practical design idea that ensures the flame never burns out.
Designed by FLIP Design and priced at $23, the candle holder is a hollow metallic box with a circular holder at the top, and also has a room for a box of matches to be inserted at the bottom. While having to find matches or a lighter right in the moment can, inadvertently, ruin the moment, the candle holder keeps the two inseparable partners together. Made from high-polished nickel, the candle holder measures 5.9 cm by 3.8 cm by 3.4 cm. The side of the matchbox candle holder reveals the area where the strike pad can be seen, removing the need for the matchbox to be extracted before using it.
