If you’re a fan of super deformed or chibi style Japanese artwork, then you’ll certainly appreciate these Martin Erws illustrations of pint-sized superheroes. Similar to super deformed or chibi, the characters in these images have been re-imagined with cuter, almost child-like proportions to give them a friendlier aesthetic. With massive heads, stubby arms and wide eyes, these crime fighters are appealing to viewers the same way babies are irresistible to everyone. Who knew Tony Stark with chubby cheeks and moustache would work so well as a kid?

If you were to browse Martin Erws’ portfolio, you’d find cartoon images of all varieties. The illustrator often challenges himself to be diverse, creating visuals that are eerie like his piece ‘Pestermite’ to more realistic images such as his portrait of Dennis Hopper.
