Dollar General is expanding on-demand discount delivery through a new Instacart partnership that combines value-focused retail with faster digital fulfillment. Customers will be able to order food, snacks, household essentials, and health and beauty products through Instacart for delivery in as fast as one hour. The rollout will begin with approximately 7,000 Dollar General and pOpshelf stores across six states before expanding to roughly 20,000 locations across 48 states in fall 2026.
For Dollar General, the partnership adds digital convenience without requiring the retailer to build a standalone delivery network at comparable scale. It also helps the company serve customers who prioritize affordability but increasingly expect flexible fulfillment options. Instacart gains access to Dollar General’s extensive physical footprint and value-oriented customer base, while the planned nationwide expansion strengthens its marketplace by bringing rapid delivery deeper into the discount retail category.
