Emma Watson received quite the exquisite birthday gift from Mark Demsteader for her 21st birthday. Emma, who has always had an interest in art, contacted Mark Demsteader to purchase a painting for herself as a birthday gift.
To her surprise, he instead asked if he could do series of paintings of her and give one to her for her birthday. Watson explains on being asked, "I was a bit nervous about the idea at first but obviously incredibly flattered...I am Mark's biggest fan and I am hugely grateful."
The collection was exhibited at the Panter and Hall gallery in London through out June 2011. The collection consisted of 34 portraits in charcoal and gouache drawings, ink paintings and oils.
The paintings are quite marvelous, capturing Watson's youth but also to representing her growth as a person.
