Real-Food Protein Bars

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The Lineage Protein Bar Has No Gums, Sugar Alcohols or Seed Oils

— March 18, 2026 — Lifestyle
The Lineage Protein Bar is the latest launch from Lineage Provisions, and it's wholly centered on real, nourishing ingredients: grass-fed whey and collagen, raw honey, grass-fed beef tallow, organic freeze-dried fruit, and organic cocoa. Equally important as what's included, the Lineage Protein Bar excludes all seed oils, sugar alcohols, fiber syrups and gums, and anything else the "gut has to fight through to digest." To emphasize this, Lineage third-party tested its Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score, and its new protein bar scored .86, putting it on par with eggs and quality dairy. “I’m proud we’re able to verify this number, so we can back up our marketing claims that this bar is incredibly easy to digest,” said co-founder Paul Saladino MD.

Developed with a focus on real food ingredients first and macros second, the Lineage Protein Bar boasts 20 grams of protein with less than 200 calories.

Trend Themes

  1. Clean-ingredient Protein Bars — A move toward bars formulated with recognizable, minimally processed components presents opportunities for products that prioritize ingredient transparency and nutritional simplicity.
  2. Digestibility-verified Foods — Third-party digestibility testing is emerging as a credibility marker that could redefine consumer trust metrics for protein and functional foods.
  3. Animal-fat Functional Ingredients — Incorporating traditional animal fats like grass-fed tallow into modern snacks signals a shift toward leveraging animal-derived lipids for mouthfeel, satiety, and nutrient delivery.

Industry Implications

  1. Sports-nutrition — Performance-focused products that balance high protein density with low calories and proven digestibility are poised to challenge traditional protein powders and bars.
  2. Packaged-food Retail — Retail assortments emphasizing clean labels and clinician-backed claims may reshape shelf space allocation and private-label strategies in mainstream grocery channels.
  3. Clinical-nutrition — Therapeutic and recovery-focused food formulations validated by clinical testing could bridge the gap between medical nutrition and everyday convenience foods.
