This App Lets Users Legally Share Clips from TV Shows and Music Videos

'Whipclip' is a new mobile app that makes it easy for users to legally share clips from their favorite TV shows, movies and music videos. While many networks publish their content online, the vast majority of what is broadcast is not legally available. Whipclip is designed to solve this problem by making it easy and legal to find and share your favorite TV clips.

The main focus of the app is on live TV so the company is currently recording live content from its partners. As soon as you open the app you can choose from a list of what is currently playing. You can then make a custom clip from the last two minutes of footage and share the clip with your friends. This means you can view and share clips as soon as they are broadcast, but you can only do so from the mobile app.

The main goal of the app is to find a better way for users to legally share video clips and help broadcasters become more comfortably with releasing their content online.
