'Lectric eBikes,' a Pheonix, Arizona-based electric bicycle manufacturer, announced a new 48-volt battery for its upcoming product lines. The new 48-volt, 14Ah battery is approximately 45% larger than the previous 34-volt batteries, meaning the range of the newer bikes will also increase by approximately 45%. According to Lectric eBikes, the 48-volt batteries boast a 672 Wh capacity that can power the bikes for well over 100 miles of range.
These batteries are also ultra-affordable given the e-bike market, retailing for only $500 USD on its own from Lectric's website. This means existing Lectric eBike owners will be able to purchase this battery upgrade, assuming their bicycle model allows for the modification. Lectric eBikes stated that the price point is one of the most attractive features of this new battery.
