Lady Gaga posed topless for the ‘V Magazine: Issue 85’ shoot before the release of her latest album ‘ARTPOP.’ Arthur Bray from Hypebeast explains that the shoot was captured by photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in order to narrate her recent studio efforts.
Within the pictures, Gaga had her face powdered white with bright red lipstick, which alludes to clowns and the art of performance. The pop star gazed at the camera with nothing to hide as her body was showcased for her ‘audience.’ The theme of Gaga’s new album is to highlight her job in the entertainment industry and to show that she is a performer and performing for our attention. By posing with her face makeup and body unbarred, Gaga was able to connect with the audience and created a performance simply by taking these sultry shots.
Lady Gaga posed topless but did so in order to make a statement about her art and career as a performance artist. Her ability to be raw with such a large audience is incredible.
