The Kyocera Torque G02 is a rugged yet sleek Android smartphone that is claimed to be the world's first ever sea water-resistant smartphone. This device meets military-level toughness standards with regards to water, dust, shock, humidity and temperature resistance. However what really makes it stand out is its ability not just to withstand seawater, but to actually take photos in it.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and features a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, the workings of which are undisturbed by sea water.
Like many other Kyocera offerings, the Kyocera Torque G02 looks like it belongs in some kind of action movie or spy thriller. Indeed its ability to take quality photographs in the salty environs of sea water makes it scarcely believable.
