Jason Wu has had a rush of popularity since Michelle Obama wore his clothing during the Presidential Inauguration.

For Jason Wu's Fall 2009 collection, the designer sent many of his models down the catwalk in pretty crown-like headwear. It's an appropriate move since he is now a prince of fashion, thanks to the First Lady.

Implications - Regal touches are always a stylish way to add a little class and pizazz to an outfit. The tiara and crown has a deep-rooted history in the monarchy and is associated closely with prestige, class and wealth. While credit crunched fashionistas may not have the money to spend on a real crown, fashion is all about perception.
