Instant gaming is emerging as the new frontier in the industry and most recently, Justin Waldron—the co-founder of successful mobile gaming company Zynga which has produced blockbuster titles like Zynga Poker and FarmVille—announced the launch of his new startup. Titled 'Playco,' the company will seek out to develop accessible web-based and mobile games that will not require any pre-installation or downloads.
Waldron maintains that Playco's mission is “to bring the world closer together through play.” It plans to do so through instant gaming, of course. The company will produce multi-player experiences that are meant to be shareable and played on social technology like social media platforms and conferences services such as Zoom. In this way, Playco fills a void and facilitates connection in an era that we all need to be a little bit distanced.
