In light of the annual Festival of Lights taking place in Lyon, France, French digital projection artist and illusionary master Skertzo transformed the Tunnel of La Croix Rousse into a stunning rotating series of landscapes. The one mile tunnel was borrowed by the artist during the four day event and was made into a visually pleasing, surreal outdoor wonderland. "It will be the first time in Europe that one combines the functionality of a tunnel with an innovative creation. People should even forget they are in a gallery," says the deputy for city culture, Georges Képénékian, of the transformative tunnel.
The projection series called Anamorphosis converts the Lyon tunnel into a wide range of landscapes. From woodlands, psychedelic cities and buildings to ancient town landscapes, the illusions create otherworldly atmospheres and places for visitors of the installation.
