Peet’s Coffee is adding Black Cherry Sparkling Energy to its seasonal menu, offering customers a fizzy alternative to its usual coffee drinks. Made with Q Mixers’ Q Club Soda, the new drink brings a black cherry flavour to the Sparkling Energy range and contains 80mg of plant-derived caffeine.
The recipe also includes Vitamin B, with the club soda giving it a crisp finish rather than the sweetness of a traditional energy drink. It will be available throughout November and December at participating Peet’s locations across the U.S.
The launch expands the partnership between Peet’s and Q Mixers, bringing the latter’s club soda into a café drink. Both brands also sell products through Amazon and grocery retailers nationwide.

What Makes This Trend Stand Out
- Seasonal Sparkling Energy
- Limited-time fizzy energy drinks create space for cafés to diversify beyond coffee while capturing holiday traffic with lighter, functional refreshment.
- Low-sweetness Caffeine
- Crisp, less sugary caffeine formats reflect growing demand for energy beverages that feel cleaner, more adult, and less indulgent than traditional options.
- Cafe Mixer Collaborations
- Partnerships between coffee chains and premium mixer brands signal new possibilities for hybrid beverages that bridge café menus, retail shelves, and at-home consumption.
Sectors Adopting This
- Coffee Shops
- Menu innovation in non-coffee energy drinks gives café operators a way to serve afternoon, younger, and non-coffee customers without abandoning their core environment.
- Energy Drinks
- Plant-derived caffeine, vitamins, and sparkling formats point to differentiated energy products positioned around refreshment, wellness cues, and seasonal flavor exploration.
- Grocery Retail
- Cross-channel brand partnerships can turn limited café launches into broader retail opportunities through bottled mixers, functional beverages, and recognizable flavor platforms.
