New Balance is giving the 9060 a hiking-leaning update in its Trail Hiker Pack, replacing standard laces with an adjustable toggle setup that makes the shoe easier to tighten on the go. The pack keeps the model's chunky shape but moves it closer to trail footwear with added suede and rope laces.
Unlike the 9060R introduced earlier this year, this version changes the closure and materials instead of remaking the upper. That keeps the change centered on fit and styling rather than on cushioning. It is already available through international New Balance channels, with both colorways expected in the U.S. in Winter 2026.
At $160, the update lets New Balance redirect an established lifestyle sneaker into cold-season outdoor styling without rebuilding the model. International availability now and a later U.S. rollout keep the 9060 active across markets with a smaller design investment.
