Although some might say that what sets the Herrlicht wood glasses apart from other fashion brands is the price, which starts at $1500, yet there is a reason why each pair is so exorbitantly expensive. These handmade sunglasses boasts German craftsmanship and Japanese technique, resulting in impeccably fashioned frames.
Created by Berlin-based designer Andreas Licht, the Herrlicht wood glasses takes about a week to be handcrafted. Sculpted from multiple thin layers of wood and assembled using Japanese joinery techniques, the entire is made out of wood, right down to the screws. The collection is comprised of maple, cherry, walnut or fumed oak frames in a variety of retro-inspired styles.
The modern, flexible and durable Herrlicht wood glasses are presented in a cylindrical wood case stylized after a seed pod.
