Bird launched a new 'Helmet Selfie' feature, which will reward consumers who take a photo of themselves wearing a helmet. The feature was created in order to promote the use of helmets among those who rent scooters from the company. Bird will also use computer vision to make sure submissions are accurate.
Those who submit a Helmet Selfie will also be rewarded. The company has not stated exactly what rewards will be available to consumers, however, ride credits will be included as one of the potential rewards.
The new feature and rewards system is a good way for the company to promote safety-conscious behaviors for its customers. Additionally, it gives Bird a chance to interact with its customers.
