The Gidsy community has given itself a pretty compelling tagline: "a community marketplace for authentic experiences." The platform enables users to connect to others and join activities going on in the real-world.

The Gidsy community members will be able to connect to activities, but also create and share ideas for new ones. Gidsy lets locals connect to each other through activities, with the host of the event setting their desire per person price, of which the site takes 10%. This platform should bring about some interesting events; this Berlin-based start-up is definitely one to keep your eye on.

Implications - Web 2.0 technologies have encouraged users to shift from passive agents to active collaborators. This desire to create and be active is also manifesting in the offline world. Companies should consider how they can create opportunities for their consumers to connect and create.
