NEEDLES works in collaboration with Suicoke on a geta-inspired set of footwear made specifically for the Spring/Summer 2020 season. The two deliver the traditional thong sandals in a new interpretive design that offer three colorway options and a unique carrying case to accompany the footwear.
The color options include olive green, black, and a pale cream snakeskin option. Similar to the original silhouette, the sandals rest on the lug Vibram Wurstel sole unit. At the top of the shoes are a thick patterning strap that are enclosed to the soles with a knotted fabric material. Each knotted fabric features different patterns including paisley on the olive colorway and blue snakeskin on the cream option. Notably, the soles have interlocking ridges to be hooked together and fitted in the cloth bags made to match the colorway and its patterns.
