Recently debuted on an elegant online antique shop is a pair of French Giltwood Arm Chairs. These one-of-a-kind seating arrangements are a rare find that dates back from the 1840s.

The gold-adorned seats take from Regency and American Empire styling that was famous around the time Napoleon was the emperor of France. The wood is intricately carved and boasts a magnificent lion head bust on each arm of the chair. Continuing down the legs of the chair, the lion theme finishes at the feet with a pair of lion paws.

Antique collectors are going crazy for this rare find, but to own such a thing of beauty and history will cost a pretty penny. The French Giltwood Arm Chairs are listed for $88,500, which is a pretty expensive price to rest your behind on.
