New York City residents can expect to see a lot more trees in their city parks thanks to the MillionTressNYC initiative, which has a goal of planting 1 million new trees over the course of 10 years. Contributing to the project is Fiat, who is donating eight Fiat 500 tree cars to the city.

The Fiat 500 tree cars are a mock-up of the iconic Fiat 500 that houses a 12-foot pear tree. The cars will be displayed along Canal Street and Avenue Americas with the trees eventually being replanted in city parks.

Fiat has made a good move here in piggybacking onto the MillionTreesNYC initiative. The Fiat 500 has just recently made its North American comeback and could use all the press it can get.
