The designer of the Electrolux Luna washing machine approached this concept product inversely to the way that such appliances are typically designed. Instead of developing a hi-tech drum that would serve to rinse one's laundry, Juan Camilo Restrepo Villamizar came up with a spherical widget that would do all of the work.
It seems as though you could enclose your soiled clothes in a plain old hamper, so long as its walls are strong and its lid shuts securely. The stain-zapping ball is tossed in and proceeds to move about the articles by means of vibrations. With just a small amount of water deposited into the Electrolux Luna, it would emit steamed particles, picking up dirt and drawing it into its pores by an electrostatic charge.
