Disney Nature Celebrates Earth Day 2009 with 'Earth' Documentary

Disney is feeling more environmentally conscious this Earth Day. The release of Disney Nature's motion picture 'Earth' is the first Disney documentary to be released under the new label, Disneynature.

The film which utilizes images instead of celebrity endorsements focuses on Polar bears, humpback whales and elephants. To keep with the spirit of Earth Day, Disney plans to plant a tree for every audience member that sees Earth on its opening weekend.

Earth Day was the idea of late US senator Gaylord Nelson in 1969 and has since spread to 174 nations.
