Depressing Dictionaries

Pictoral A-Z On The Dark Side Of Life

Implications - Creatives often subvert traditional iconography to make a societal or political statement. In this example, the artist used a graphic dictionary similar to the ones young children read in primary school. By infusing witty, incisive social commentary into innocent, childlike illustrations, the artist achieves a jarring juxtaposition that forces readers to pay close attention.
