Dimple Adds Four Custom Buttons to Your Android
Laura McQuarrie — April 29, 2014 — Tech
'Dimple' gives Android devices a set four of custom buttons that can be programmed to launch a frequently-visited or favorite app that much faster.
The Dimple Buttons use Near field communication (NFC) and don't require the support of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or any of the life from your phone's battery. Each button on the Dimple Button strip comes with its own unique NFC ID, so that they are easily distinguished by your device. Since a lot of Android phones lack a home button, this is a great way to add tactility, even if it's just a small 0.5mm sticker to the back of your device.
On the 6th of May, the Dimple Buttons will be launched as part of an Indiegogo campaign. Early supporters may even be able to nab one for as little as $15, before they go up to $28.99 for retail.
