CurbTxt is a new service that allows drivers in San Francisco to anonymously communicate with one another. It's designed to make it easier for neighbors to solve parking disputes and to allow drivers to warn each other of impending tickets or tow trucks.
For those who don't know, parking in San Francisco can be quite a challenge. Even when you find a spot, chances are that there are time restrictions. Parking enforcement agents ensure that even the lightest rule breakers get a ticket. With CurbTxt, drivers can anonymously communicate warnings/complaints to each other. The service is free to use and is accessed via text message. Cars using CurbTxt are given a small sticker. Receiving messages requires you to sign up, but even those who have not yet enrolled can send a CurbTxt.
