The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has been unveiled as a new glass designed with smartphones and mobile devices in mind to help them withstand exposure to accidents. The glass has been tested to survive drops from up to 6.6-feet onto asphalt, while also withstanding drops onto concrete from 3.3-feet. The glass material is also rated to deliver impressive scratch resistance at the same time to give it a well-rounded level of performance that can withstand the rough and tumble of daily smartphone use.
The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is expected to be used on devices in the coming months and takes modern technology design into account, which includes larger displays and heavier handsets. The glass is rated as being four-times better when compared to aluminosilicate from competitors.
