Cooked-to-Order Fast Food

Carl's Jr. Shifts Its Burger System to Made-to-Order Preparation

Carl’s Jr. is introducing cooked-to-order fast food across its restaurants, shifting burger preparation away from traditional holding systems. Under the new Burger Revolution standard, burgers begin cooking only after customers place their orders, helping deliver hotter, fresher meals with more consistent texture. The Angus Maximus is the first limited-time offering under the system, featuring two charbroiled 100% Angus beef patties, American cheese, onions, pickles, special sauce, and a brioche bun for $5.99.

The systemwide change allows Carl’s Jr. to differentiate itself in a competitive fast-food category by emphasizing freshness without moving away from quick-service convenience. Using the Angus Maximus to introduce the preparation model gives customers a clear reason to experience the change. The free-burger offer for new My Rewards members can also encourage loyalty sign-ups, giving Carl’s Jr. additional opportunities to drive repeat visits and personalized promotions.
