The COMME Des GARÇONS jackets that were designed by Rei Kawakubo, the luxury label's founder, draw from the theme of war, however in a way that's a bit more abstract than usual.
Rather than imposing the blazers with olive military-like colorways, Rei Kawakubo constructs the pieces with patchwork designs. Although the torsos are comprised of a single type of material, the sleeves on both sides are made with a collage of colors and patterns that clash against one another.
While one of the COMME Des GARÇONS jackets combines Japanese florals with whimsical geometric prints, the other is a little more conservative -- mixing different plaids of similar tones and finishing of with a magenta cuff. In doing so, Rei Kawakubo aims to aims to "reference the celebration of post-war returns and victories."
