When you think cleaning robots, the first devices that come to mind are robots that slide around your living room hoovering up dust and dirt. But the Boiler Tube Wall Climbing robot is a completely different beast altogether, designed to clean out power station boiler tube walls.

This is a difficult and hazardous job that can usually only be performed during down times to reduce the risk to the human cleaners. Now however, thanks to International Climbing Machines' efforts, there's now a robot that is capable of climbing and cleaning the walls of boiler tubes in confined spaces when the station is still active.

Ultimately, the Boiler Tube Wall Climbing robot is an engineering and robotics feat of the highest order, and one that will enable better and safer boiler tube cleaning jobs.
