Hospital-Sterilizing Robots

This Robot Uses Ultraviolet Light to Clean Hospital Rooms

The D-Infector is a newly developed robot that is being used to clean hospital rooms at the Martinsville Henry County Memorial hospital in Virginia.

The robot makes use of short-wavelength ultraviolet light, which allows it to clean hospital rooms in a matter of mere minutes. The light operates at a highly specific spectrum which acts on the DNA and RNA of any organisms that may be remaining after regular cleaning is performed. What makes the use of ultraviolet light so important is the fact that it is capable of disinfecting even water and air, and is able to destroy drug-resistant organisms that can pose a grave threat to patients.

Ultimately, a clean hospital room room means that patients are kept as comfortable and free of stress as possible, helping to improve their recovery outcomes.
