In attempt to gain ground in the home theater industry, Internet giant Google unveiled Chromecast -- a super compact plug-in device that lets you stream media content from your smart phone to your HDTV.
The device plugs into your TV and corresponds with any Wi-Fi enabled electronic like your smart phone, tablet or laptop. The Chromecast conveniently brings your downloaded media material to the big screen, improving home entertainment systems. You'd be surprised to hear that the device is marked at a very low cost of $35. This move makes sense on Google's part, because it seems like a fair attempt to get competitive with Apple TV.
Chromecast is currently only available in the US. International launches have not been announced yet.
