Christopher Kane has returned to the runway scene after a long break, sharing a new Spring/Summer 2022 collection for London Fashion Week that is described as “Conservative yet Playful, Subversive but Sensual, Hard against Soft, Sinister versus Innocent.”
For the designer’s newest release, Christopher Kane has dissected the female body to present a range of apparel that incorporates glossy material to impersonate body parts. This unique design aspect creates the illusion of six-pack abs, breasts, and collar bones. Silk dresses are reimagined with muscular drawings of hands, arms, legs, and feet, while vinyl cutouts replace bra straps.
