Toronto creative Ruth Oosterman created a series of breathtaking water color children's doodle illustrations that feature a collaborative effort between her artistic talents and those of her three year old daughter, Eve. Using her daughter's drawings, Oosterman adds realistic pencil illustrations to bring the abstract strokes to life.
Children often doodle freely, exploring the tactile use of a variety of different art materials and forms of expression. Oosterman's work highlights this innocence and young exploration by picking up where her daughter's doodles leave off and contributing to the pieces. Eve begins the process with felt tip pen drawings that Oosterman adds to using paint, pencil and pen to bring detail to illustrations. Both the first and final version are then shown side by side to highlight the progression of imaginative and free to refined and realistic.
