The Chaos Theory 2010 collection by Rachel Balzarini blends sheer fabrics, a breezy aesthetic and a color palette comprised largely of neutrals. The collection was created as a part of Balzarini's senior year at Parsons in New York.
One of my favorite pieces from the Chaos Theory 2010 collection is the petal pink design in the first, sixth and ninth images. Its X shape reminds me of the old-school Xs used on treasure maps.
Implications - Neutral colors reflect the state of a society and therefore businesses can be assured that they will benefit from producing goods that are in subdued, muted colors due to the current economic crisis in many countries. Rather than flashy extravagance, minimalism in every facet of art, design, architecture and fashion is becoming increasingly popular.
