Champions Ascension is poised to be a live-service, true play-and-earn experience where users can participate in a lifelike world that changes overtime based on player interactions, decisions, and events. Jam City stated that Champions Ascension is intended to not only appeal to cryptocurrency and web3 enthusiasts, but also to traditional gamers.

In Champions Ascension, players will be able to collect and power-up a collection of gladiator characters. The game will be visually detailed, set in a flushed-out world called Massina, and will feature a player-first game model. This is to say that Jam City is not merely launching a web3 game for the purpose of raising money, but to truly explore the viability of NFTs and cryptocurrency as a means of purely enhancing players' experiences.
