Sometimes a thing has been done for so long, it is hard to see how it can be optimized, even if the optimization itself is clear as day; take this camera manual, as the perfect example. Designer Karin Hilgenkamp managed to see the benefit of combining DSLR packaging with a camera manual, thus saving material while also increasing the lifespan of the packaging itself.
About the innovative packaging and camera manual, Psfk writes, "The sides of the package all have die-cut shapes that can be popped out after the packaging has served its purpose. They then fold together into five miniature books, complete with spines." Although it is still a concept, the prototype demonstrates how companies can make use of such a design with complete ease.
