Some people live for the last bite of pizza crust and now there is a way to savor that flavor even longer thanks to Bruno Pizza's latest creation. However, this New York City-based pizzeria is not just churning out a new pie with a specialty crust. Instead, the restaurant has debuted a sweet dessert made with doughy and crispy pizza crusts.
Just as the name suggests, Bruno Pizza's new Pizza Dough Ice Cream is a sweet treat made with actual pizza crusts. To create the unusual dessert, owner Demian Repucci starts with organic wheat from a farm in Ithaca, New York. The wheat is then ground down into flour in Bruno’s basement mill to create plain dough, which is then baked in a wood oven, ripped apart, toasted, and charred before it is thrown into ice cream.
While the toasty scoop can be enjoyed in a bowl, customers can also enjoy the ice cream on top of a sweet cinnamon-sugar pizza.
