Batis Rike's 'Odds and Ends' post puts forth a DIY design scheme that is both practical and tasteful. The German blog is home to seemingly endless decor tips, many of which are inspired by new art forms.
Described on the site as a notebook full of inspirational entries, its primary curator Rike works to deliver pointers on the daily. This particular project requires recycled paper and pieces of second hand wood. Designs carved into the planks (which can be done personally if desired) are used to press wet ink on to the gift wrap sheets.
The final product mimics the style of party confetti, only with an angular appeal as Rike's chosen shapes are squares and rectangles. Varying takes on the concept can incorporate an assortment of configurations however.
