The Banksy of Books Creates Breathtaking Anonymous Art
Meghan Young — December 4, 2011 — Art & Design
It seems like one infamous street artist is being given a run for his money thanks to the mysterious appearance of one who has been dubbed the Banksy of Books. Although this artist isn't politically inclined like the actual Banksy, nor does she delve into street art, her wish to remain anonymous is similarly reaching mythical heights.
It all started when the Banksy of Books left a breath-taking paper sculpture at the Scottish Poetry Library. Since that fateful day, the Banksy of Books has created ten more, the last of which was placed yet again at the Poetry Library. An attached note read, "‘You need to know when to end a story,’ she thought. Often a good story ends where it begins. This would mean a return to the Poetry Library. The very place where she had left the first of the ten. So, here, she will end this story, in a special place … A Poetry Library ….. where they are well used to ‘anon.’ Cheers Edinburgh It’s been fun!”
