AYANEO, the Shenzhen-based manufacturer of premium handheld computers and gaming devices, recently announced the confirmed specifications and release date of its previously-teased 'AYANEO AM01' mini PC. This mini PC, contrary to previous rumors of being equipped with a high-end processor, is quite modest in its specifications, which enables AYANEO to sell it at a very affordable price point.
The AM01 is available with either the AMD Ryzen 3 3200U CPU, or the Ryzen 7 5700U. Additionally, the device can be ordered in either barebones, or pre-built configurations, with the RAM and storage varying between the 8+256, 16+512, 32+512, and 32+1T, respectively. Early bird prices begin at $149 for the 8+256 3200U version, and extend up to $379 for the 32+1T version of the 5700U model.
While these specifications will not see the AM01 used as a high-end gaming PC, it still holds enough utility to play low-end games and perform basic web navigation and word processing tasks. Its largest charm, though, comes from its retro-inspired design and unique frame.
