AI technology is certainly advancing in creative fileds—from illustration and painting to music creation and now, a brand new artificial intelligence film festival. Launched by Runway ML, an AI startup credited with the creation of the innovative text-to-image tool Stable Diffusion, the tech-forward event is currently accepting submissions. The artificial intelligence film festival is expected to run in February 2023 and the programming definitely has the potential to showcase some ground-breaking achievements with AI technology in the motion picture format.
Qualifying movies will be between one and 10 minutes in length. Each submission needs to “feature AI-generated content and/or AI-powered editing techniques" in order to be eligible. Cash prizes will be given out to the most impressive of films. There is a grand prize, as well, which sits at $10,000 USD.
