'Armarium' is a new app that allows women to rent stylish clothing with nothing more than the touch of a button. In recent years, the sharing economy has made it easier for consumers to access the things they need without actually purchasing them. This platform uses the same concept to help women to access designer garments without committing to the high price tag.
Armarium is an app-based platform that allows women to "own the spotlight without owning the dress." To begin, customers simply browse through Armarium's collection of designer clothing, which includes pieces by names such as Alberta Ferretti, Sonia Rykiel, Nina Ricci and Roberto Cavalli. Customers can then speak to a stylist or book an in-person appointment to ensure that the piece will fit correctly. After the customer has found the right size and style, they can rent out the garment for four days or longer. After the designated rental period has ended, the customer simply ships the item back in a pre-labeled package.
The service ultimately gives women a simple and budget-friendly way to wear designer pieces without committing to the garment for the long-term.
