Electronics retailer AO has launched the AO Mobile network as part of the brand's foray into the connectivity market that's anticipated to be a hit amongst consumers seeking out a competitive, low-cost option for stay connected.
The new telecom service comes in the form of a singular SIM-only plan entitled Ultimate 500GB that offers unlimited calls and texts in the UK with a 500GB monthly data allowance, 15GB roaming data allowance in Europe and a 30-day rolling contract. The service will reportedly reach 99% of the UK population to offer fast, reliable access to 5G connectivity with a very low-cost price point. The plan comes in at £18 per month, but AO members can enjoy a £6 discount to bring it to £12 a month.
Founder and CEO John Roberts commented on AO Mobile saying, "We’ve been disrupting the status quo since 2000 to make things better, simpler, and cheaper for customers. We want to remove complexity and keep mobile simple so that it’s easy for customers to understand. Our pricing is transparent, our contracts are flexible, and our prices are fixed. For AO, this feels like the right approach because a mobile phone is so central and critical to everyday life."
