Pakistani artist Maryam Safdar magically creates anime Disney princesses by slightly changing traditional images of popular characters.
These stunning portraits use a unique Japanese-inspired technique to alter the look of each princess. The new images present anime eyes that are over-sized to reveal the look of a Japanese comic book character. The artist presents various anime Disney princesses including iconic characters like Belle from 'Beauty and the Beast' and newer princesses such as Ana and Elsa from Disney's 'Frozen' film.
Many artists have referenced Disney iconography when creating their own versions of classic female characters. However, Safdar uses a popular anime style to gently alter the look of each princess, which ensures that the innocence of the original character is still maintained.
