Glamorously Charitable Animal Masks

These Designer-Created Masks for London's Animal Ball Sparkle

London's Animal Ball is an annual event hosted by The Elephant Family, a "small, but ambitious charity" that aims to preserve wildlife by preventing the poaching and hunting of endangered species.

To honor its cause, The Elephant Family challenged several high fashion designers to create animal masks for guests of the Animal Ball, in keeping with the event's theme. Everyone from Christian Lacroix to Dita Von Teese to Mario Testino put forth a glitzy and glamorous animal mask that is sure to rock the ball, which occurs on July 9th.

Several masks portray glorious birds of paradise, with colorful feathers emerging from the masks' tops and glittering jewels embedded around the eye holes. Another popular mask design is that of a jungle cat; either a lion or a tiger. These silver masks were created by Johnny Rocket with jewels by Swarovski Elements and show a sleek jungle cat with black whisker and narrowed eyes; both elegant and fierce.

By encouraging designers to support the event through their creations, the Animal Ball will hopefully gain more supporters, bringing the world one step closer to saving those animals that are killed unfairly every single day.
