Shopify recently created support for 3D models, as well as videos, on its platform. This means that Merchants who sell goods on Shopify can add 3D models while not needing to code or use a third-party app. Shopify indicated that since adding 3D models to the platform, that conversation rates have increased by a total of 250%.
The new tools can also be utilized by Merchants to create explanation videos or promote products through testimonials.
Rebecca Minkoff, the CEO of Uri Minkoff, has used the 3D models on Shopify. Minkoff also spoke about the new tools and how shoppers wish to, "understand the texture and structure of every bag, and envision how they'd feel wearing each piece in a collection."
