Clinical 3D Body Scanners

This Scanning Solution Aids the Printing Of Prosthetics and Orthotics

China-based 3D printer and scanner company Shining3D has taken the step of collaborating with Canadian medical device manufacturing company TechMed 3D to develop an innovative 3D body scanner.

By combining the individual strengths of Shining 3D's 'EinScan' scanning machine and TechMed's 'MSoft' software, this 3D body scanner aims to offer a comprehensive scanning service with a wide variety of medical applications. Specifically, clinical specialists will be able to access scans in a matter of minutes whilst being able to design, alter, print and conduct sizing tests for prosthetics and orthotic appliances.

The growing popularity and utility of 3D scanners in the medical sector is hardly a secret, but the fact of the matter is that many clinicians don't have access to perfectly compatible software to go with their hardware, which is precisely what this new 3D body scanner offers.
