A 1913 Coin is Worth Much More Than Its Face Value

Imagine having a $3 million nickel! Well, a rare nickel from 1913 is expected to be sold for $3 million in an upcoming auction in Orlando, Florida.

One of five ever made, the $3 million nickel was created when the US mint was in the middle of switching designs. Instead of showing a bison on the tail side and a Native American on the other, the coin shows a bison and the Statue of Liberty. As The Luxury Insider puts it, "Essentially, it is a halfway house between one period of American coinage and the next."
