On the surface, the 1/6th webpage looks like geek central - but the photographs of scale models are exceptionally detailed and pretty cool. The photos here are of a German "52" Locomotive model made by Peter Shaw. This particular model is a couple years old, but there are a lot of other examples on the site. I think these pictures look fabulous and hats off to them.
Implications - Part of their special nature can be attributed to their use of lifelike models. I'm certain these toy soldiers would undoubtedly be favorite toys for many young boys, and even an adult audience. Historians are simply going to go gaga for these particular models!
